Summer Programs

Summer is the time for having fun with music! From the end of June to the beginning of August, students can get together with others of their own age to really delve into music in a way that you simply cannot in one 30 minute weekly lesson. Fun times are had by all (even the teachers), new friendships are forged and lots of music is played and learned! Students will enjoy one-on-one lessons as well as group instruction by our qualified and professional teaching staff. All camps culminate with a performance on the last day of camp, which parents and siblings are welcome to attend.

In addition to the camp tuition, there is a $25.00 registration fee per camper. Before Care (from 8:00 am - 9:00 am) and After Care (from 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm) is available for an additional fee of $50.00 per week.

General Music Camp

Session I: June 27 - July 1
Session II: August 1 - August 5

Tuition: $325
For children ages 6 - 11 years old

The General Music camp is open to those students with no experience on an instrument as well as those students who have up to 2 years experience on their instruments.

Students with no experience on an instrument will be introduced to a variety of instruments. They will get the chance to try each of them out during the course of the week. Some of the instruments available will be piano, violin, guitar, and drums, among others.

Throughout the week, students with experience on their instruments will have the opportunity to work one-on-one with instructors.

Classroom activities for all the students will include music history, listening skills, identifying different genres of music, music vocabulary, fun games incorporating music fundamentals and much more.

Beginner Piano Camp

Session I: June 27 - July 1
Session II: August 1 - August 5

Tuition: $325
For children with 1 - 3 years experience on piano

Beginner Piano Camp is designed for the early beginner and will focus on proper piano playing technique, note reading, ear training, music theory, rhythm, fun games incorporating music fundamentals, solo performance and duet performance.

Intermediate Piano Camp

July 18 - July 22
9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Tuition: $350
For children with 3 - 5 years experience on piano

Intermediate Piano Camp is for more experienced students who want to enhance and refine their skills. Intermediate camp will include group classes in music theory, daily private instruction and monitored practice time, study of scales, chords and arpeggios, and taking the next step towards more advanced and challenging repertoire.

Beginner Guitar Camp

July 11 - July 15
9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Tuition: $325
For children with 0 - 1 years experience on piano

Beginner Guitar camp is designed for new students who want to improve their overall playing. This camp will focus on posture and technique, tuning the guitar, an introduction to theory, basic chords and strumming patterns and solo and duet playing.

Beginner String Camp

July 26 - July 29

Tuition: $325
For students with a minimum of 6 months experience

Beginner String Camp is perfect for students who just started playing violin this school year. Students will work on developing their bow hold and bowing technique, left hand technique, intonation, posture, note spelling, music theory and rhythm, music vocabulary and practice routines.

Intermediate String Camp

July 26 - July 29
9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Tuition: $350
For students with a minimum of 2 years experience

Our Intermediate String Camp is perfect for students with experience on their instrument looking to expand and refine their skills in vibrato, shifting, positions, advanced left and right hand technique, musical style and phrasing, advanced theory and practice routines.

Celtic Fiddling Camp

July 26 - July 29
9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Tuition: $375
For students with a minimum of 1 year experience

Students will build their musical repertoire while learning the technique of Traditional Iris and Scottish Fiddling, as well as Cajun and Old Time Fiddling in a fun setting.

Jazz Camp

July 11 - July 15
9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Tuition: $375
For students with a minimum of 2 years experience

Teenage Jazz students can spend a week working on jazz theory, improvisation, ear training and ensemble playing with a performance at the end of the week. Students interested in our jazz ensemble can try out the group over the summer.

Rock Camp

July 18 - July 22
9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Tuition: $375
For students with a minimum of 2 years experience

Beginning rockers aged ten and up will learn songs from the 50s to the present day for a performance at the end of the week. Students should have a basic understanding of chords and have two or more years experience on their instrument. They will cover rock classics and even work on their own song writing and improvisational skills.
