Anna Lawrence - piano, guitar

Anna Lawrence studied music theory at Montclair State University. While her main concentration is piano, she also teaches guitar and coaches the Saturday Jam Session at Raritan Music Center, and runs general music and Show Choir at Assumption Catholic School in Perth Amboy. She has had the pleasure of performing a wide variety of music, from microtonal works of Harry Partch to the film score for Lord of the Rings by Howard Shore. Her piano repertoire ranges from Chopin to Bartok to Glass, and she has premiered works by Charles Corey. She loves teaching children for their curiosity, honesty and vibrant attitudes, and prefers one-on-one teaching for the ability to custom tailor her teaching style to a student's particular learning style and musical interests. Anna focuses on developing a strong foundation of good practicing habits, posture, technique and listening skills, some of the most important tools a student can take on their musical journey.
